I'll second that suggestion of the G23. Simply superb in all respects. The pistol has no weakness. Concealable, compact, accurate, high capacity with an excellent cartridge and fantastic reliability.

Agreed on the Glock. I personally hate the Beretta. I carry it in the military and while I dont have a prob with the 9mm(would rather have 45) I find the tactical application of the M9 to be less then what else is out there. IMHO, 1. Glock. 2. XDM. 3. M&P. etc... Try out all and make sure what is on your appoved carry list. And what is your choice for B/U? lol new topic...

Glock 23 all the way! Get yourself a Glock 27 for back-up, and the G23 mags will work in both pistols.

The Glock 22 is the most popular and most issued sidearm in LE.

My last sidearm in LE was a Glock 23 as I could more easily use it for uniform/plainclothes & off duty.

Glocks have the fewest parts, are the lightest, and get the best LE discount.

After your first year on the job, you will curse any weight on your duty belt.
