Conservative Response to Liberal Gunman

Postby tigwelder56 » Sat Feb 14, 2009 8:35 pm

Welcome to the Forum Lib! Since we generally discuss firearms and the shooting sports here, our political talk tends to lean heavily toward 2A topics and viewpoints. You're free to tell me exactly what GWB did that screwed up the country. Nobody in government is perfect, but the liberals seem to think they're above reproach and won't accept responsibility for anything that doesn't work out exactly in their favor. If they step in dog crap, they just throw their shoes on our porch and point fingers, blaming the stink on us and our house! Lib's are great at slight of hand tricks! Now they won't even let conservatives into their meetings. I guess that allows for easier deniability. The important thing to remember is that we've had a Democrat/Liberal controlled Congress for years, several on his watch. It was one shady, pork laden bill after another and what irritates me the most is how a bill presented by the Dems for road repair in Bumfuc, Egypt gets voted on, approved and at the 11th hour while people were leaving for their two week break, something pork laden, anti 2A, etc. was added to the bill. No way to stop it, and this type of trickery was pulled over and over! So when it blew up in everyone's face, the liberals jump back and say, "hey, this happened on Bush's watch and they voted for it too"! I don't trust any of them and they've got their war chest stuffed with taxpayer dollars and they're passing a stimulis packages that they refused to let the Republican members of Congress even review! The Lib's wouldn't even allow Republican attendance during the final night of discussion on this so called Stimulis package! So much for transparency in government.

It's a Democrat/Liberal controlled socialist goon squad made up of the most radical anti gunners in Congress. Besides Obama's own anti gun position, he has amassed the most dangerous group of anti gunners under one roof. Raum Emanuel has been an active leader in the anti gun movement before, and during the Clinton administration. Now he puts Eric Holder in the Attorney General's office. He's the most dangerous one of the group, rabidly anti gun and is already getting busy on anti 2A legislation, with the help of the likes of George Soros (Mr. Deep Pockets), the Brady Campaign, and many others. Let's not forget, Holder will be in charge of the BATFE and has already told them to increase their attacks on gun owners. The bullshit legislation we suffered with during the Clinton Administration will seem like childs play after they get the ball rolling. With the likes of Chuck Schumer, Carolyn McCarthy, Hillary Clinton, Patrick Leahy and the rest of the anti gun squad, you can bet your last bullet that they're going to try and take it away from you, using any means possible. The Liberals are using a form of magic to convince people that they're the best thing since chewing gum. They remind me of a treadmill workout, you keep running and running and you end up right where you started. Except now you're worn out, hot, sweaty and you had to pay money to actually get nowhere. Can we say "STIMULIS PACKAGE"?

So Lib, you've got a brief look into my disgust of the new administration. You live in one of the most anti gun states in the country and you're supporting the most anti gun administration this country has ever had. I would love to believe that his promises might actually work but you don't advance or improve the socio-economic environment by putting the country into more debt and expect it to be paid at the taxpayers expense. And I do respect your viewpoint and opinion. People that refuse to hear the opposing view and demand that their position be blindly accepted are the one's that get under my skin. I don't know how this majority domination by one political party was allowed to happen. We are witnessing a change from democracy to socialism over a single generation. We've just scratched the surface of all the problems in front of us. It'll take decades to resolve many of the hornets nests this administration is stirring up. Very sad...

Unfortunately, I have come to believe there is very little difference in the trustworthiness and honesty level of either Republicans or most Democrats. So I am admittedly hesitant to trust Obama's promises any more than the previous administrations. Though I feel pretty strongly about the dishonesty that has come from Bush/Cheney the past 8 years. I can tell that gun rights are a very high priority for you and I can respect that. For me, it just happens to be lower on the list (but not off the list) so I tend to vote based on issues of greater priority to me. If that means voting for someone who will make decisions about gun rights that I disagree with, but does a better job of taking care of the less fortunate and vulnerable in our own country, I am willing to make that sacrifice.

I just hope (like everyone else on here) that gun rights aren't in as much jeopardy as the current gun industry hysterics would have us believe. When Gun Manufacturers post record profits this quarter amidst a recession, they can all thank Obama for being the antagonist they needed to create a panic-laden buying spree. And I'm sure those CEO-types will gladly line their pockets the way the Wall Street pricks did during their windfall profit quarters.

LiberalGunman,

Welcome to the forum. I think that its is nice to know that there are still a few of the liberals that hold gun rights in high esteem. It just doesn't seem to be that way too much anymore. I can attest that I know very few who hold such a moderate view of gun ownership and still claim to be a liberal. Hope to see you around the threads and look forward to your input.

Hi Lib,

I'd like to know if you do or would support any kind of changes to the US Constitution? Do you support allowing unilateral attempts of amending the Second Amendment for any reason? Thanks for your reply.

Lib,

Well actually there is something to the name. As you already saw " lotsip" is "pistol" backwards. Being as this is a weapons site, I thought that it would be appropriate. So to continue going with the backwards theme, as far as the"81" goes, "18" just happens to be one of my favorite numbers . Other than that there is nothing to terrible special about it, just out of curiousity why do you ask?

No reason, just thought the number might be football related as I am a Viking fan.

Tig,

I do not support messing with the 2nd amendment. However, I also think that we should all consistently support the ENTIRE constitution. Too many times I have encountered people who shout and holler about not messing with gun rights but come up with pleny of justifications for violating someone's human rights. I'm not saying that's you Tig, as I don't even know you.

What are you getting at?

I'm curious just how serious you are about protecting all of our Constitutional rights. I have no respect for anyone that is willing to let our elected officials and their croanies chip away at our rights. No matter how small the give away is, after awhile, each little chip turns into a big chunk. I don't welcome changes to any part of our Constitution, no matter how big or small and don't think much of people who do. Since this is a firearm oriented forum, we do choose to bring attention to the 2A. So anyone that brings attention to themself regarding this issue (on this forum), should expect to be asked to explain their position.

I realize on this forum there is more talk of 2A, and that's fine. But in everyday life, I wonder how outraged you get about conservatives trying to chip away at the constitutional rights of a gay couple to get married and raise children, or trying to make christianity our national religion, or trying to tell the recording industry what they can and can't say on their records. Let me ask you, were you outraged when about those trying to stop Ice-T from singing "Cop Killer"?

Truth is, there are plenty of both republicans and democrats who are guilty of trying to infringe on the rights of americans. A man gains more credibility and respect in my eyes when he fights this kind of injustice regardless of party lines...

You're absolutely correct. I believe in everyone's right to live their life peacefully and within the law. If you don't agree with the law, then you raise hell and hopefully get someone elected that parallels your ideals more closely. You can't easily beat city hall, but you can damn well fight them tooth and nail!! That's one reason I am as involved in politics and legislation as I am. I'm not here to trample anyone's rights or choice of lifestyles. I didn't bring up Democrats or Republicans either, I mentioned liberals and conservatives, there's a difference there. We have liberal conservatives and conservative liberals, it crosses the great divide! If you choose to stereotype the two, then you can place me in the conservative middle. What I don't like are individuals that seem to think they have the answer for every issue facing people here at home and around the world. Be it Gay rights or 1A issues. Nobody has all the answers and I don't want them legislating bullshit laws that only serve them and their like. I don't like politicians sneaking in crap at the last minute in 1000 page documents that the opposition hasn't had a chance to review. That's the kind of nonsense that really has rubbed everyone's butt raw. There should be "Laws" in the system that strictly prohibits the adoption of laws/bills like we witnessed last week. All they've done is open the field to appeal after appeal and who suffers? We do... We need term limits on these people so we don't end up with more and more narrow minded politicians that believe they can rule the minions any way that suits them. This is a democracy and unfortunately the Democratic party is doing their best to turn it into a Socialist system. Thus far they have succeeded in doing alot of harm to the Republic. Taking over the banking system and denying free trade, among other issues, isn't doing this country any good at all. So many things Libgunner need to be fixed and the Constitution isn't one of them. I believe I understand your position more clearly now. I don't see things as black or white either. There is and always has been alot of gray between the two.
