Gun Laws

Postby gbshive » Mon Mar 15, 2010 3:00 pm

Hi Everyone,

After years of saying I was going to do it I finally went through the long process in NJ to get my Hand gun and long gun permits and ID. I also this weekend took and passed the rifle, blackpowder, and shotgun test in my state to get my hunting license. So I am leaving this post for all the congratulations I will receive from everyone . Believe me in NJ it is an accomplishment. As a lifelong ffirearm enthusist it is nice to be able to purchase and shoot.

In NJ as I am sure in a few of your states it really is an experience. With the waiting and background checks. Then the separate permits and starting again for a hunting license. If you are a law abiding person they check everyone from your pediatrician who delivered you to the guy you by your newspaper from to be sure you are not a criminal. And then wait to see if you will forget or die of old age. Because every criminal of course goes through legal procedures right?

I always considered myself open minded and a very liberal person. That is why I believe so fervantly in the NRA and the second amendment. But I just want all the congratulations for the accomplishment ! Really I do feel special after almost a year's work. Really all I wanted was to sport shoot.

And not to sound biased. I know people are people but the majority of those who I have come in contact with with an interest in firearms have been VERY STABLE, helpful, and friendly.

I again want to thank the members of this site for their help. If any read this far.

G; Big congrats on surviving all that grief!!

It completely escapes me how 'we allow' the government to interfere with our Second Amendment to the Constitution, which is clearly stated as a "God given" and "inalienable right" to "Keep and Bear Arms", which in 18th century english, translates into "Possess & Carry Arms".

In most places in the U.S. the legislators made laws trying to allow 'Government' to grant or restrict such rights.

Our founders made it clear, that our Bill of Rights is "God Given" and these 'rights' can never become "Government Given".

Mr. James Madison left no room for interpretation regarding the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution. Yet, many persist to limit OUR rights.

Henry - I don't know about that living in Jersey :) I would be concerned if some crackhead or freak totally flipped out on acid seeing the devil everywhere was walking down main with a gun. But as much as i disagree with many of the legal aspects of local state and fed government after going through all the red tape to get here I am a little less upset by it. I guess now I am cocky and smug and say you want a firearm make the effort :) Half joking here. I oddly enough consider myself a very liberal person though and that is why I support the constitution and the right we should have without having unfair infringements.

The Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States does NOT allow for any interference by our government representatives. [Endowed by our Creator, not our government]. See the 10th Amendment in our Bill of Rights regarding federal interference, etc.]

Two States currently recognize "Constitutional Carry" [aka: no government involvement with people who carry their firearms]. Vermont, Alaska with Wyoming pending at the moment.

Most States have alienated us from our ["inalienable"] 2nd Amend Right to various, and illegal, degrees.

It is necessary to reclaim and enforce, through carefully chosen representatives, our Constitutional Rights.

most certainly agreed goanra.

I was just watching part of the movie Anne Frank - the movie was based off the journal written by Anne Frank during Germany's invasion of her country. I don't know what everyone thinks about the Bible, but, I am going to refer to it here, and if you don't like it, get over it, at least you'll see the moral to the story.

In the book of Ester, the Jews basically escaped persecution and extinction by fighting off their attackers. I was thinking, if they didn't have those weapons to defend themselves, they would have been eliminated without thought. The same type of thing happened in the reign of Hitler.

There is a movie I have seen about Jews that defended themselves against the Nazi's. The movie is based off a true story about where 4 Jewish brothers team up to create a resistance against the Nazi's. I forget the name of the movie but, it is a phenomenal movie.

If they hadn't had their weapons, they would have been unsuccessful in saving so many Jewish people.

If we don't have our weapons, we are asking for persecution on ourselves... Our weapons are what keep us free. You get rid of those and you just about lose your way of life.

The people that want to get away from firearms are the people that have the least experience with them, or just bad experience. We should work to get a good experience and positive thoughts about gun ownership. Frontsight is attempting this, and doing very well.

A civilian who isn't armed can be a casualty. A civilian who is armed, he can be a soldier.

Yup. It's always the liberals who promote socialism and we end up with HUGE government + the people 'fearing their government'.

Mega-Liberals like Hitler, Che, Castro, Stalin, Mao, etc., have exterminated over 90 million of their own innocent people, with the real number likely double.

In each case, Gun-Control was a prelude.

For example:

When the Nazis gained power, gun registration laws, having been passed under the Weimar government, were already in effect. On March 18th, 1938, the Nazis further restricted gun rights, restricting the possession of militarily useful weapons and forbidding trade in weapons without a government-issued license. Known as the Nazi Weapons Law or Waffengesetz, this, in effect, limited firearm ownership solely to Nazi party members and other reliable people.

Liberals lead to socialists to dictators in the name of "Doing what is best for the people", which usually results in exterminating countless citizens. They all offered free Health Care ... coincidently.

History will always repeat itself.

Our Founders knew this from their history and wrote The Constitution of the United Stated, endowed by our creator ONLY. The government can give us nothing, because in the U.S, we ARE the government.

Now we will use our NRA and votes to attempt to save our nation. And use the USSC to dump ObamaCare.

Obama Finds Legal Way Around The 2nd Amendment And Uses It.

If This Passes, There Will Be WAR

Obama Took the First Major Step in a Plan to Ban All Firearms in the United States

The Obama administration took its first major step in a plan to ban all firearms in the United States. The Obama administration intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations. By signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the US State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress. Once the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments. These are laws that have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg. The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms.

The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before US citizens even understand what has happened. Obama can appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation (in the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws. Does that mean Obama is telling the truth? What it means is that there will be no publicized gun control debates in the media or votes in Congress. We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public. We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment.

This is not a joke nor a false warning. As sure as government health care will be forced on us by the Obama administration through whatever means necessary, so will gun control.

U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a veto.

The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush's administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better. Are you really surprised? There are a number of articles about Obama exhibiting signs of mental illness. Google up Obama and mental illness. Sobering.
