Remington 700 Reviews

I just bought my first Remington 700, .308 Cal rifle. I love this rifle, the stock is by Houge so it's all rubber. I am shooting 150 and 155 gran ammo. I only shot this rifle enough to zero the scope, but I will be back to the range soon.

tigwelder56: Thank you for that link, I checked and I am so glade my 700 isn't on the list. If you have anymore info on any other weapon please pose it as soon as you find out.

The day after Thanksgiving I was able to get to the out door range and shoot for 300 yds. I love windy days when shooting the 700 you really get to try out skills to see how well you can shoot a rifle.

I have this rifle in 25-06. I love this rifle have its killed everything from antelope all the way to a huge 6 point bull elk. My wife uses it now and love how accurate and reliable it is.

i picked up ones of the sps-v's in .223 with the longer 26" bull barrel a while ago, i love it. The stock is very flimsy and not free floated at all. i swapped the stock scope with a burris 3-9 and it delivers .5 moa @ 100 yards with fiocchi 40gr. v-max rounds. i couldn't be happier, when i get my new choate stock and a higher power scope i should get it down to 1/4" moa with practice.

I have been on the long range with this 700 in .308 and it deliveries every time. I am useing a BSA 6-20x50 scope and I am dead center at 400 yds. This coming summer I will going out of state to try my hand at 800-1000 yds. The rifle info I have found says it should reach 800 yds easly, but you have to be good with the .308 round to reach 1000 yds.

But overall with the overmolded houge stock I think my hands will be comfortable even if I can't reach 1000 yds, I will be happy with 800 yds anyday. This is a fine rifle, happy shooting.

I am posting this link so all my Remington 700 owners will be even more careful with there rifles. Please play and listen to all of these clips very carefully, it may save one of your loved ones, and you make your own decession about this rifle.

For what it is worth, I love my 700 and have no plans to get reed of it either.

just got a new rem 700 .308 caliber. Havent gotten to shoot it yet cause I picked it up an hour or so ago. read through the comments I feel good about my purchase. thanks everyone I'll post pics soon.

I own this model in .223 with a 26" fluted barrel and mounted a Leupold 4x12 on it. Had the trigger adjusted to a crisp 2 lbs. With that combo and my reloads, it is wickedly accurate and I have whacked 100s of prairie dogs. Even factory loads, Fiocchi 40 gr, I rarely miss and when I do it's my fault not the gun. I did have to replace the extractor in the bolt, but that didn't cost much and is the only problem I have had while shooting 1000s of rounds. You cannot go wrong with this model.
