I own a blackhawk beasley in 45 long colt,I love to hunt with gun I've killed 2 deer and hogs with this gun,I would like to know if I can put a 454 cylinder in this gun,I know it can handle this load,some one please respond,yhank you

Try one of the loads listed in the Spear reloading manual. I shoot 23.5 grains 296 with a 260 grain bullet. It was from the Spear #9 manual of around 1976. I've had the round checked at 1396 fps consistently. The most recent manual I've found is a Spear #11 which dropped the round down by three grains. I've taken deer, antelope, and elk with this round. Insect the cases before reloading. Replace them often. You have to work the round up and down for accuracy. I'm not too sure about the steel in the more modern Ruger so it might not be a bad idea to use the #11 listings.

I have a new model super black hawk 44 mag. have had it a long time -I think since 1983-serial starts 83-89---Its A BEAST !

Have rubber pachmar grips on it and my elbow still hurts after shooting a box throuhg it lol

I have a new model which I aquired used back in the '70's from a younger man who could not master it. At the time, it had a 7 1/2 barrel. I sent it to the factory and had a 10 1/2 barrel put on it and it has been my favorite every since. A Bianchi Cyclone crossdraw holster completes the package.

Since I reload my own, it can be as pleasant or unpleasant to shoot as I want it to be. I've never had a problem with it and the cast bullets I shoot through it (I make my own) have not presented a leading problem if the velocities are kept to a reasonable level. This is one fantastic shooting iron!

Mine has a 7 1/2 in barrel -I shoot high power loads in it but dont shoot it very often-last thing I shot with it was a coyote at around 100 ft in the shoulder-he went down without even a quiver lol

This is one of the best guns I've ever owned. I put Sambar Stag grips on it and it shoots great. Very accurate. This will be my deer gun this year. Thanks Ruger!

Super work of Gun craftsmanship. I have one over 15 years old and it is revered. It is accurate with everything. It is relatively easy to shoot. And it is tough as nails.

I do exhort wheelgunners who shoot magnum rounds to check the screws periodically as well as the ejector release button. Under mag loads these things can be loosened. I just replaced a screw from the trigger assembly that shot loose and escaped.

Ruger rules the roost in strength and value.

I have one of the old new models early 70s I think.

this thing is awesome again mine does not weigh the listed amount but closer.

easily the best cowboy action gun I've shot, great quick draw even shoot good.

mine is .41 mag kinda heavy for that but ok for medium game hunting or backup.

I will reload it when I can so it will be better for fun.

I would rate it 7-8 coolest six shooter I've seen the vaquero is cool to but some are no good for hot loads.

A gift from my grandfather I have mostly used this as my bear gun while I hunt. I find it to be accurate and very deadly. It wears well when I ride a horse and I feel like John Wayne when I pull it to shoot. Love this gun.

I put Rubber grips on mine prob twenty rears ago or so-its damn accurate and has never failed me even with crap ammo lol
