Does anyone have a .460 magnum or any experience with one that they can share some likes, dislikes, information etc...

I would like to hear more about this gun and am thinking about adding one to my collection.

A friend of mine had one and has since traded it for a less "noticable" personal protection weapon (he is from Alabama). I did have the chance to shoot it and to my surprise, it was a real pleasure to shoot. I centered the bulls eye at 30 feet on the first shot. Very loud and very powerful but also very easy to control. I thought the thing was going to jump out of my hand but the compensator on the end of the barrel works well, it just pushes straight back. I have heard of people mounting a scope on them and hunting large game, after shooting one I can see how this could be a reality. Very nice piece.

I have a performance center 460 with the 14" barrel. Bought it about three years ago and love it. Great trigger, grouped in one inch at 100 yards off rest with scope shooting hornady ammo. Recoil is ok, not for the weak.

I'm thinking about purchasing one of these partly because of the cartridge versatility. I like that about my S&W Governor, which brings up a question: Can you shoot .410 shotgun shells with this? I can't tell from looking at pictures if the cylinder would accomodate them, not that it would be my ammo of choice. I'm considering doing some handgun hunting, and have looked at the 629 44 Magnum hunter and have to wonder how these two would compare.

This gun handles S&W .460 Magnum, .454 Casull, and .45 Long Colt. I have heard nothing about .410, but of course I have seen guns that interchange .410 with .45 Long Colt.

I have a .460 XVR 10.5" Performance Center. It took some time but I would not overpay I got mine for $1100.00.

I am looking for the best ammo for each caliber, the only thing I found in .45 is cowboy loads. I heard that I should NEVER shoot cowboy loads(leaves a lead coating that is a MOTHER to get out)

I am disabled I can BARELY stand and walk like a crack head with palsy...I was able to shoot Cor-Bon's .395 gr .460 free hand standing and not even come close to falling or loosing control. Yes it KICKs but VERY manageable.
