Sig Arms P229 Reviews

I ve been a .45acp man all my life from the combat commander to the gold cup. For me, the .45acp was the only firearm I would trust untill I bought my first sig .40 (p239) I was soooo impressed I bought the p229 12 round .40 and the sig .357 barral. There is no cons with this weapon, its more than perfect in every way, clearly a weapon anyone could put their trust in. My sig p239 7 shot .40 is the one my wife and 15 year old daughter shoots now with over 90% (Bullseye) hits at 25 yards and, there are times when I still choose to carry the p239 due to its size. One more piece of information, I also have and love my Ruger M-1 Carbine that shoots a .40s&w in a 20 round clip. Its a replica but with target sights instead of peep sights. (military sights) no jams over 2500 rounds and makes reloading simpler. Enjoy your sig!

frequentshooter, Ive heard stories like that about NYC as well. I guess crime is so high. I may be wrong. I also heard they cleaned up New York quite a bit. I was up there last June. The ho strolls are all dried up. Its not the same.

I guess it depends on what part of the state you live in. Up satae is a different world from the city...

Yeah, you are probably right cont2, the state is so freaking big, there are probably places you can and cant go all in one. I was just remembering my permit class about a year ago, and the question had come up about carrying in other states. Being a resident of Connecticut, NY had come up. But who better to know than a NY resident. Anyway, thanks for the info.

Sorry Frequentshooter, I thought you were the one from NY but I see now it was BigSig1 I shouldve been addressing. Anyway, Im from Waterbury. How strict is it in Ct? I left there in 1980 and didnt get into firearms until long after that...

actually..its a 6 mos process...first you have to fill out a ton of paper work, then get an appointment at the westchester county clerks office to be finger printed and hand in all your paper work in triplicate. 4 pictres passport size have to be submitted, a 6 hr handgun safety course, then you get to shoot,, i live in westchester county and the permit is actually, concealed/carry target. this means my premises, to and from the range.

actually, it is almost the same as bigsig here for obtaining the permit, but no restrictions where you can carry, aside from the usual -no bars or govt places-

Liberal states SUCK for gun ownership, when I left Connecticut, the

Law stated that if a burglar had broken into your home. YOU had to leave the premises. Because the preservation of life was more important than than being YOU being secure with your belongings.

The good news is that as more and more states provide the option to carry concealed. Criminals will settle where it is safe to rob people. TEE-HEE.

Hey Nohub,

Tell me about your trigger job. Id like to have mine worked on. I love my 229 .40 but the trigger has more travel than a set of Michelins.

Well, when i first got my 229 and went to the range, the trigger seemed a little gritty, kinda rough and stiff. I broke it down and of course cleaned and lubed the heck out of it. The next step, (got idea from a friend) I took snap-caps, and fired that puppy around 500-600, times, then it was smooth as a babys ass.... now for alot of play, i would most likely take it to someone that really knows Sigs, and have it looked at, or send it toSig,and let them advise you of a new trigger selection. I did replace the trigger, a few years ago in mine, its a DAK. Later, Nohub
