I purchased the P229 DAO/DAK and it performs better than expected. Truly a superior handling firearm.

Purchased one as a CPO and it looked like it had never been fired. The one I got was a .40, and it was the softest, smoothest shooting .40 Ive ever had the pleasure to shoot! And deadly accurate. WOW! Another must have for any gun enthusiast.

I previously owned a Glock 22. I fired 300 rounds through it and it was very accurate and never malfunctioned. But the grip didnt feel right and the gun looks so plain in my opion. I traded for a SIG P229 DAK .40. Now theres a sweet gun. It fits my hand better, has less recoil, and gave me better accuracy. I like feel of the DAK trigger

I purchased this gun at a local gun show in Orlando. Shot it the same day and Sig lives up to its name and all the stories Ive been reading in the forums. Very accurate right out the box and great for concealed carry. Just point and shoot and usually hits in the center everytime. Sigarms is above all the rest! Cant go wrong with a Sig.

Currently own 229R DAK .357sig with CTC grips, meprolight sights, short trigger (must have upgrade), & EKG recoil spring. This is my current CCW carried in Mitch Rosen USDII IWB. EXCELLENT CRAFTSMANSHIP - considering the 239 SAS; however. My current 229 has is tweaked so nice;y that I am affraid to make any changes at this point! Not sure that I could ever be happy with anything but a Sig - its truly wonderful...

I just purchased the 229 DAK for my wife (120 lbs) and I cant believe how good she shoots it. We fired 50 rounds at 25 yds and she scored 495 out of 500. She missed the bull only 5 times. She only shoots about two times a year and the only other gun shes shot is the Beretta 92F. I didnt outshoot her, but I thought I shot extremely well too. Overall, we both love the design, workmanship, and quality of the 229 DAK and would recommend it to anyone.

Just picked up my 229R DA/SA in .357sig. I have become the biggest fan of the round! The .357sig in thie metal pistol is slighly more rough and kicks more. Besides my Kimber procarry .45 and rossi .357 snub this is my only metal framed pistol. While I LOVE the poly-plastic lines out by HK, Springfield and Glock [in that order] metal pistols do have there place.

It should be noted that like HK, Sigs are not bulit for price points, simpliclity in take down or opperation, HK and Sigs are the top line in autoloaders, PERIOD. So what does the extra price get you? Flat out A+ fit, finish and reliability. Why does the FBI, Secrect Service, CIA, DOD, INS, etc. issue 50% sig [226/229 in .40 and .357] 50% HK [p2000 in .40 and .357]??? Because in their hard core tests no one could touch them in reliability and quality.

From the range and 500 rounds 0 failures of any kind. This $1012 gun is my office weapon as it demonstrates excellent marks in quality, reliability, power and status [if there is such thing with guns.] I thought about it replacing my G32 or G38 for ccw, but I do like having .357 and .45GAP on me in a light package.

A++ for the 229R in all areas. It is a pistol for the tactical professional. If you are new to weapons or are looking for personal defense, go to Glock or Springfield [in the order] for poly-plastic autos, and Smith for wheel guns.

Where and how do you apply the safety for the Sig Arms P229? I need a manual for pistol 40 Cal SW.

You can get the manual at Sigarms.com, as far as the safety, you cannot manually apply a saftey for this model. There is no manual safety just DA/SA
