Sig Arms P220 Reviews

When it's decocked I think there is a block that goes in to make it impossible to fire. No safety lever but I'd trust my Sig decocker in any situation, including a drop.

decocked just means that the gun will fire in double action mode for the first shot. The heavier trigger pull is supposed to act as the safety.

Even in DA this is one very smooth trigger pull. Nothing but good to say about this gun since I bought it a few weeks back.

I love this gun. It is very reliable and extremely accurate. To me this is the Porsche of handguns

I've had a Porsche 911. My Sig's are way more reliable and easier to work on. LMAO ..... oh and my wife likes em better too. Happy New Year!!

DD, I hope you are wrong about the 911 as I am expecting to take delivery any day of a new Turbo S for which I am giving up my Boxster S. Unlike your missus mine prefers Porsches to Sigs but then again her gun is a very relaible and aesthetically boring Glock.

When it was good, my 911E was amazing! Unfortunately, when it was bad....WOW! In all fairness it was used and had seen better days. My Sig's on the other hand have been nothing but pure pleasure. Since then, my wife has been ruined for Porsches however, she does LOVE her Sig. Good luck with the new wheels Ed. Still the best looking around!!!

Anyone have any experience with a Laser Max and the 220? Though replacing the guide rod is a little concerning, it looks like a sweet idea. How does it activate? Any performance issues since installation? How tricky an install???

Hi, I'm looking into the 226 for a concealed carry. This will also be my first handgun. I'm currently deployed and would like to purchase one when I return. I really liked the P220 but I was told it's to bulky for a concealed, and he got a P229, so I'd like to compare. I was looking for advice? I have learned a lot in research and I definitly am going Sig. I'd also prefer a .45 (or .40 sw if need be). Also I'd prefer double stack. Any advice? I'm also open to other models.

Also I noticed in this forum they had P220 and P220 Concealed. One being full size and one being compact, what are the main differences? Barrel length? Is it less bukly?

concealability depends on a lot of factors: your size, the weather, holster, etc. What works for your friend, may not work for you. The P220 is a single stack handgun. The size differenences can all be seen on sigs website. The main difference among carry and full size models seems to be barrel length. The P220 was my first handgun, and I would recommend it to anyone. No matter what model you go with, you cannot go wrong. The trade off is going to be caliber size for capacity, but quality is going to be great regardless.
