I picked up my Pro Carry 45 Acp last week, put 120 rounds through it a few days later (Value Pack Walmart). 2 FTFs were due to my limp wristing ( Im trying to get back in the grove after a 25 year layoff). Accurracy was awesome, easy to strip,nice finish.The Kimber is a great choice.

I have a custom ll, with 22 LR converson kit. I thought I was buying the best, boy am I disapointed! With the conversion kit I cant load the mag. with more than 6 rounds because it jams. Even at that is still jams on occasion. I use nothing but cci mime mags, and shoot 200 rounds per session, I have over 1000 rounds fired far beyond the breac in period, and exceeding my patience level. My cheapo Armscor High Standard has given me perfeft preformance with the same amount of rounds fired. Im trading in the Kimber this week!

Youre right. You need to trade that Kimber for a 22.

I shot over a thousand rounds of premium ammunition with my Kimber, it still hung up. I have a High Standard 1911 45, which has been fired the same number of times, with one fail to feed round. Perhaps I had a lemon of a Kimber, but if it dont work I dont want it!

I agree. You can own and use many things that are finnicky; a gun aint one of em!

Im no expert but it seems to me that Kimbers are of a very precice design and are made to fit tightly. That doesnt leave much room for error.

Id have a gunsmith go over it, maybe get him to take it to a range. Id also change mags.

I love mine but, when I first got it, the slide stopped locking back when the gun was empty. I finally found that the slide stop was broken. It drove me nuts for days because the damage was so slight that it was hardly visible. I finally found it because it felt rough to the touch. A magnifying glass finally cleared things up. Point is, this is Brownings design with no mechanical tolerance.

I agree with everything you say, you must also have more patience than me! My High Standard will put 7 in a 4 inch ring at 25 feet without a burp. Thats all I need.

Yeah, I guess when you pay that kind of $ for a name like Kimber, you have a right to expect nothing but smooth sailing period.
