Did Colt ever make a civilian AR (semi-auto)that has both triangular handguard and the forward assist like the early military M-16s. All the SP-1s have triangular handguards but no forward assist.
The AR with forward assists have the round handguards.

Not to my knowledge, though it should be relatively easy to build one with the proper parts. Here are the people who really know. Google up Retro Black Rifle and the site may be www.RetroBlackRifle.com or something similiar. These guys are the absolute guru's on the subject of retro rifles. They know the history of the subject and will email you back. BTW you'll notice somewhere that my so called rep is poor. Total BS by an admin guy who doesn't know squat.
