We are gunning for Zombies

Postby Brad270 » Tue Aug 24, 2010 12:40 am

If you are in Illinois in October, my club is having its second annual Zombie shoot. It is basically a 3-Gun event with a Halloween twist.

Details are at our blog at http://www.thezombieshoot.com/

Why would you bring an ax to a gunfight?

Hey Brad, you could use him as a running target! It'll add some realism to the contest :))

Maybe we could start side bets on how long he would last. Another revenue stream!

I think a bush ax would work great on Zombies. Otherwise I'd have to bring my 870 and some 45s, i recon.

The problem with a close quarters weapon is that it leaves you open to being in contact with infected Zombie parts and you could become the next target. As any experienced Zombie hunter knows, the infection can spread trough contact with Zombie guts so the Zombies must be taken down at a distance and then burned. We have reports of Zombies actually throwing objects, that look like clay birds, at victims to infect them. We have set up squads to prevent the objects from reaching their intended victims. Hopefully we will have video to depict the success or failure of the squads at the end of October on the club website.

LoL, you know Brad, I thought about saying something similar earlier today, then I realized there was no such thing as zombies and any rules applied are simply made up. So, perhaps in one persons game, a bush ax may be okay because maybe the zombie disease does not spread unless something specific happens like they have to be bitten rather than just get blood on them or something. Or maybe the zombies were invented in a government warehouse with a specific chemical mix and don't spread their disease. Either way though, I would certainly prefer whatever avenue would give me the most distance, in such a fantasy type scenario, or even any other scenario.
