Glad that I could be of some help. Had another day at the range today.....another few hundred rounds and still not a single problem. Man I love this gun! :-) Have fun with your guns and be safe

T-Main, for the use that your looking for I say that the GP-100 would make an excellent choice. The pistol offers you two calibers one which u can use on the streets (38) and the other which can be a good back up in the woods (357). Plus with all the variations to ammunition this days that means you have more choices to work with +P+. The other plus is that the revolver is easier to start off with and maintain. You should consider a 4 inch barrel with a IWP holster for best concealment ,OWP for hunting trips. Make it a stainless steel to help maintain it from the weather during your hunting trips. I hope this helps out and good hunting T.

If you have to have a semi in 10mm or greater Go with that compact Glock in 10mm though to hunt with a handgun a longer barrel is usually more applicable. There are a couple of other semiauto's now ive killed deer with one is expensive and new and the other one has been around since WWll and very inexpensive and both could be comfortably carried concealed with no problems. The first newer expensive pistol is that FN Fiveseven which is a hot 5.7 20shot poly framed pistol for $800 or more. The other one is the infamous "Takorov" CZ mdl 52 and mdl 54 in 7.62x25 thats a hot little reliable pistol that is very slimline and you can find them in Curio Relic mags like Shotgun News. The recoil on both is no more than a 9mm but wear your ear plugs when you shoot them.

Your welcome it comes in different capacities and is very accurate. You can also get it in bi-tone. Gums and ammo magazine voted it the best pistol overall. I'm glad I can assist you.

JD, I'm in agreement with you regarding the quality and reliability of any Glock. But, I own a Colt 1911 and they are simply in a different class. You should keep your eyes open for one, I know you'd love it like we all do ours. If you don't shoot it all the time, so what. I look at mine like it's the cherry Corvette in the garage under the car cover! I absolutely love it and when I gather up all my pistols and head out to the range I'm always pleased when the 1911 comes out. It is such a gorgeous pistol and entirely reliable. The only upgrade I have made is a set of custom grips. You need to treat yourself to an American Warhorse when you can afford it. You won't be sorry!

Hey Tig, in agreement with you in that a colt 1911 is an outstanding handgun but I've heard rumors that the company isn't doing so well and that they've lost their contracts with the military. I sure hope that they don't go belly up like winchester did. Sorry if got away from the subject.
