Springfield 03

Postby blazinsun69 » Fri Nov 18, 2011 12:02 pm

I have a I have a Springfield 1903... made in 1918.. it is missing the bolt and buttplate.

Is it worth the expense of buying a bolt and buttplate from that era... or just sell it as a parts gun??

Depending on the condition of the action, barrel and stock that you have, it could be built into a nice rifle, if it is in good condition, the parts are available at very reasonable cost.

Just remember!!! 03's manufactured before serial no. 800,000 may have the older type (softer) receiver and as such, should not be shot with high power loads. (research this for yourself)

Numerich usually has all the parts you need along with manuals, books and schematics.
