Chicago: Cops won't charge 2nd man in a week to shoot intruder

A drug suspect fleeing Chicago police chose the wrong home to break into today on the West Side. A resident inside with a handgun wounded the intruder, authorities said. While the wounded suspect was hospitalized and later charged, police declined to seek criminal charges against the 27 year old South Austin resident with the gun, despite the city's decades old handgun ban.

The 1st was an 80 yr old Army Vet who was home, sleeping, with his wife & 12 yr old great-grandson. An armed Home-Invader shot at him twice, before he pulled the trigger on his own handgun, killing the criminal with the one shot.

The reason he had a sidearm was they'd been robbed, at gunpoint, in their home recently!!

Mayor Daley stated that, Guns are not the answer to these crimes.

Even the local media wrote, UH, It seems they certainly are.

It seems Mayor Daley has made Chicago a haven for Violent Criminals and Rampant Crime and some are just getting tired of ineffectual law enforcement and being denied their Constitutional Rights.

Daley's silence on these events is deafening.

[in Chicago, elected officials are legally allowed to carry concealed sidearms]

Don't know if you all saw the Supreme Court ruling, saying Chicago's ban on firearms was against citizens 2nd amendment rights. This was announced today. After 28 years I guess, pretty big win
