Ruger LCP

Have voiced a concern about inadequate slide metal coating previously. I've now stopped carrying the LCP under any circumstances. As a carry I have stayed primarily with Fobus holsters as they are less abrasive than leather. My first solution to rust / corrosion was daily oiling of the slide surfaces. However, that was only part of the problem. The black coating on the slide has now worn away over a large portion exposing raw metal. To me the choice of surface finish is a shortcoming in design quality. I finally wiped the LCP down with a heavy coating of oil hoping to prevent further deterioration and put it back in the box as a souvenier.
