Boar Hunting

hey tig, im planning on going on that trip with docb and i was wondering what is the smallest cal you have heard take down a pig? i have a XD40 tactical and an ar that i plan on taking... if one round wont take them i figure 30 will!

Hey Shimy! Whas' happening Brother? If you're planning on taking them with a handgun, I think I'd probably feel okay with a 357, depending on the angle of your shot. They say the big ones have hide a half inch thick so I'd probably consider a solid bullet versus a hollowpoint. I've never heard of anyone hunting them with a 40. I'd feel good with a 44 though!! An AR with at least a 60 grain slug, heavier the better would work fine. They say the smaller the bullet the bigger your balls need to be!! If you're going after them with a pistol, bigger is always better!!

You know something I've always wanted to try and it is legal here in Florida is Crossbow hunting. I think it places more nerve on the hunter simply because the ethical limit for Crossbow hunters is 30 yards max. So you're going to be close if you're stalking them. It's going to require some of those BIG BALLS we talked about earlier!! It would be a hell of a lot of fun!

very funny B... A$$!!!! sorry i havent been on for a while guys... the site has been really slow loadingand i been too tired to put up with it.

Anyway, ive heard all the stories about how thick their hides are... im pretty sure the AR would do it, i was just seeing what yall though... oh and B, my nuts look like a pair of 40 MM HE rouunds bro!
