desert eagle 44

my buddy dropped of his 44 desert eagle here at my place and asked me to take a look at it ... the trigger sticks whe you fire it but it does not do it when you dry fire ... at first i thought it was the sear disconnect not allowing the trigger to reset but i function checked it (pull the trigger, hold it to the rear, rack the slide and then release the trigger ) i was unable to re-create the malfunction so i went to the range yesterday and sure enough on the third round the trigger stuck to the rear... i am at a loss so i am open for sugestions... it is a nice weapon except for the fact it don't shoot right
