Hey Will Carry, I like your post about driving over a pile of Rugers for a Marlin. I have the Marlin 60SB, the stainless model. Beautiful gun. Great shooter, accurate, and has a heavier barrel than a stock 10/22 and last shot bolt open.

I also have a 10/22 but the Marlin is always the 22 I grab first. The Marlin feels more like a full size rifle than the Ruger.

I know the 10/22 has a huge aftermarket of parts available, like barrels, stocks, triggers, bolts, etc. Maybe because the Ruger needs these parts? LOL

The Marlin 60 dose what I need a 22 to do right out of the box. No need to spend hundreds of dollars replacing parts I've already paid for once.

i like the little gun, have had 1 for 30 years the only drawback is its tubular mag instead of clip.....much slower reload .it is a fun inexpensive gun...

Anyone who owns a Marlin 60 or any tube fed 22 should check out Spee-D-Loader. They're great. http://www.spee-d-loader.net/

Just acquired the Model 60 my dad bought new in 1965 or so, with the longer barrel and higher capacity tube. Waiting on delivery now. It has a scope but no idea what it is.

I shot it back then, I was 9 or 10 and haven't seen it since.

So anxious to finally own it and will report when I get my hands on it again and take it to the range.

I took the 60 out Christmas day. I had a gun shop install a Simmons scope and never had to touch it. Dead on from the first shot. It was a blast shooting 18 rounds without a reload, not counting the times it hung up. Might have to try the graphite that I have heard recommended. All in all, I am extremly pleased with it.
