Factory Mag it came with when It came to the pro mag model 96 20rd mag it wasn't so well the mag continued to fall out because its not wide enough for the mag well pro mag should make there mags a. Lil wider so they fit properly the mag locks up fine but. It wiggles out the lock up cuz the mag isn't wide enough a quick fix was a little elcetric. Tape so it can hold besides mag trouble great grouping with factory sights out to 45 Yards

Santiagoraul1982,

I would personally be very concerned if my mags fell out regularly! Is there a way to get it back to the manufacturer or the retailer and get a replacement? I have the 9mm version with the PX4 magazine insert. I have no such problems and hate to see a fellow CX4 user worrying about that. It makes me wonder if the magazine insert is set for the PX4 .40cal and not for the model 96? I am making guesses here and am probably showing my absolute ignorance of the problem. Hope this helps give you an idea to run down!

I bought a CX4 about 3 months ago, and I'm generally pleased with the gun.

I have had a few problems: (1) the bolt will sometimes lock open even though there are still rounds in the magazine. (2) the second time I took the gun apart to clean it, the guide-rod assembly broke. It's a fairly cheap design with a plastic rod and a very flimsy plastic plate to retain the recoil spring. the plastic plate simply broke apart. Of course Beretta would have repaired it under warranty, if I was willing to pay shipping and send the gun to a service center for 6 weeks. Instead, I found an upgrade kit from Brownwells for $85, and it is a far superior design. Makes me wonder why Beretta wouldn't just make the upgrade standard.

Interesting dilemma, Ken60659. I have never heard of that particular problem. All my gun purchases have been local to date, so I have been able to take them back (Academy, one trip) and they quite willingly sent it back to the repair facility for work, gratis. I can't speak to teh Cx4, but on the Px4 one user on noted he had changed to a metal rod, but had spring problems after that. A bit of work with the manufacturer put it all to rights. Goo luck on the changes!

As all of us with a Beretta CX4 45 cal. were stuck with 8 rd. mag. now there is a 16 rd. available from Sierra Papa. I purchased 2 of them and they work and feed perfectly.. This makes it alot more FUN at the range. Call Brian 503-621-3017

@RK45, I took a look at that site. Lots of good stuff available, all pointed at improving the CX4. Thanks for the heads up. Now if only they would get the ARX160 out to share the space...
