emay... there is a peep sight and firesight front setup to replace the mill sights for about 30.00, dead on, and quick acquisition. i think there in cheaper that dirt cat,its great for these old eyes and turns the gun into a real killing machine...............

Ugly, one day some enterprising American will do the obvious and produce a true US version and clean the thing up.

No doubt that she's an ugly weapon, but to my experience it's die hard reliable rifle. I bought one brand new back in 1993 for my dad as a fathers day present for $119. We took it to the range several times and was dead on with iron sights at 100 yds. On one trip I taped a quarter to the bulls eye of the target and at 100 yds drilled a whole right through it on the first shot. I've been meaning to get one of my own ever since.

norinco mod 56 in a T6 tapco stock, recoil buffer, TS200 rear sight with .046 TS200 front sight post mod. Not a single jam/malfunction with over 250 rounds through her. sighted in TS200 ( highly recommended) this morning. gouped out 2" moa off bench but shots about 3-5 sec apart. best gun for the money by far!!
