I must be the only person in the world who removes the rubber 'recoil pads' from my shotguns and replaces them with hard plastic, so the stock doesn't stick to my clothing when I raise it to shoot.

I've seen the Mossberg pistol grips & many extras on ebay.

A lot of 870 stuff, too.

I replaced my rubber recoil pad om my Mossberg 500 with a 'Limbsaver" Now it does reduces some of the felt recoil but I am willing to try the Knoxx system(s). I am relatively short (5'5") and with the limbsaver, the LOP is at the limit of my reach. Before I purchase the Knoxx sysem:

1) can anyone compare the felt recoil between the Knoxx and limbsaver?

2) With the Knoxx stock, can you remove the trigger group when field stripping, without removing the stock like the original stock? Many aftermarket stocks have a "lip" which sits over the trigger group not allowing you to remove the trigger group when field stripping..

I have one of my 12 guages set with a pistol grip. I don't shoot it for fun, but it's no big deal. The 3 in shells will tire you out soon enough, though.

It ain't for quail hunting.

haha, you got that right. My pistol grip fun ends with plastic bottles and clays with 2-3/4" target loads!

Goanra -- For those "tacky" recoil pads that stick to or hang on your clothing -- try wrapping the complete outer edge of the recoil pad with black adhesive tape -- leaving the butt end rubber exposed. Worked for me.

Thanks SW, I had a bunch of black duck tape & I covered the entire rubber recoil pad until I finally found a hard plastic butt-plate.

The tape did help.
