I know nothing about shotguns, is this an ideal home defense gun?

I would recomend it. As for shotguns this gun is pretty cheap but really well made.

As a Christmas present from my wife in Dec, 2005, I am very pleased with this home defense weapon. Easy to handle, has an 18-1/2" barrel, and cleans quicly.

Yeah i was surprised how easy it is to breakdown and clean that is deff a major plus. The only thing I had wrong with it is when I go to load a round in the chamber it falls out the bottom sometimes

does this gun really come set up like in the picture for 370? That would be a pretty good deal! Looks pretty tuff and would fit in great with my collection

Definitely on my list to buy, i believe the picture shows a folding stock with pistol grip which is exactly what I am looking for in a home defense shotgun.

The first one i got had problems feeding the shells. they would just drop out the bottom. maybe it wasn't build right, or i just had a lemon. so i just returned it to the store and got another.

This time everything was flawless. i got a rail mount for about 7 bucks and put a cheap red dot scope on it. not to hard to field strip , however, i would try to watch someone do if first, can get a little confusing. said it holds six 2 3/4 shells, but i can only get five...maybe its 5+1. anyhow, it a nice cheap gun. for 300 bucks, cant really go wrong.
