Mossberg 695

Postby kyle44mag » Sat Jan 05, 2008 11:52 pm

Has the mossberg 695 been taken out of production? I cannot find anything about it on their website. Or anywhere else really.

Thank you

Sadly,The ol' Bolt-Torpedo White-tail Dropper is off the production schedule . Too bad. I havent picked up the 2008

catalogue yet.....it(695) was absent from the 2007 catalogue.

Most likely the 695 was dropped in favor of the semi-auto and slide-action slug guns.

All the Big Bucks comin' in from the Military/Police contracts

have Mossberg dealin' out Top-End O/Es plus

a whole new line of Top-End(and price!) Hunting Rifles.

Probably needed the production line for the monumental M/P

orders.

Glad I bought the slugger when I did four years ago!

My son bagged a Buck and a Doe White-tail , one two-with

three shots last season. Damn excellent "large-bore 'Rifle.'"

This spring when the muck dries up , or summer- I'm doing an incremental

100 to 500 yd. targeting evaluation. If it lines on the 3 to 500

yd like I have a good hunch it will I'll stretch it out to 800 yds

for curiousities sake.I've shot 100 & 150yds w/a near negligible 1/2"drop with the avg. grouping of 3 shots in an unbelievable 2 and 3" diameter,a few even gave me the Ace of Clubs! (All with 63mm sabots.)

I'll shoot Brenneke,Remington-'CopperSolid'and Lightfields' sabots (Brenneke 70mm were used to bring down those white-tails.)

I'll try to get 76,70,73 & 63mm sabots through it to check drop.

That all bein' said....My son is goin' into the Marines and he tells me of a Marine he knows , an Iraq Vet ,who used the 695 slugger, as well as many other units using the venerable ol' boltster ....... . Seems to work for 'em

just fine as a 'Sniper"Rifle" ',if I'm hearin' it right......

Damn excellent slug...er,..'Rifle....... .

Good Huntin',Sittingmoose,Shaman.

Thats too bad abouyt it being out of production. I was reading a book on deer hunting and the author said it was the best bolt action slug gun he ever shot. I guess I will look elsewhere.

Thank you, Kyle

P.S. please give your son my thanks for serving our country.
