Sterlingworth Double Shotgun

Postby Donna » Thu Mar 11, 2010 3:02 pm

I would appreciate some advice here. My boyfriend has always wanted a double shotgun, and his birthday is in April- I'd like to surprise him. I know he wants a twelve gauge, either the regular style or the over and under. He hunts pheasants mainly, also some dove and rabbits too.

He has a Remmington pump gun now, he also uses it for deer and turkey hunting. I found a Fox Sterlingworth 12 gauge the other day in a gun shop, the owner said it had been refinished by a Turnbill Company in NY- he was selling it for a regular custormer.

It has two triggers and a very nice stock with a red recoil buttplate- a Jostam the dealer said, and it has the automatic ejection system too.

He is asking $1250, which seems like a great deal of money. He also has a Browning Citori 12, like new, for the same price. Which gun would be the better buy?

Thank you for your help.
