Remington 870 Pump Shotgun

Postby MOUNTAINSKYTOP » Tue May 10, 2011 10:27 pm

Bought my remington 870 Shorgun new a few months ago and it has given me ejection problem with field loads jamming up the gun and failing to eject and have to remove the barrell and push the shell out with a cleaning rod. I dont even have 100 shells through this gun yet. Any comments! Has happened twice and the first occurrance was on the first shot fresh new out of the box. Seems like the shell casing expanded so that the single extractor could not pull it out and toss it.

Strange to hear about problems with a new Rem 870. I used these & trained hundreds of LE recruits + annual quals for years with almost zero problems on SGs with 20-40k shells through them.

I would immediately suspect the ammo, especially after hearing of 'distorted' shells.
Reloads? Low brass?
Same problem with different loads or brands?

If so, warranty should still be good after a few months.
