The trick to the 462 is to know how to shoot and what you want it for. This is not a range gun. It is an up close and personal self protection type gun. At that it is very good.

New 461 and the double action trigger pull is really heavy. Does anyone know where to get a "reduced power" mainspring? Does the mainspring from a Smith "J" frame fit? Any help in locating aftermarket springs for this piece would be really appreciated.

I put a j frame spring in my 462 and it works fine. Also did some polishing.

Thanks Wrangler. Will order the shooter's pak from Wolff. Did you change out the rebound spring as well?

I honestly don't remember if I did but I think so. Smoothing things without messing up the sear contact helped too. Mine now rides with me as a truck gun loaded with 357 125 grain hollowpoints

Just ordered the parts from Wolff and they won't even go out for about a week as they are really busy. Looking forward to getting this guy smoothed out and lightened up! Have a good holiday.

This is a wonderful gun for the price. Its really accurate and precise. It goes boom every time so what else could you ask for. One of the best purchases I have ever made.

The stainless steel finish gives it sex appeal...
