help with ID

Postby larrytk » Tue Nov 22, 2011 2:21 pm

New here and was wondering if I could get some help ID'ing a pistol that a friend found in his basement. It's a 22 single action, 6 shot cylinder, 12 1/2" blued round barrel. There are no markings on this revolver except a proof mark on the right side of the frame, just forward of the cylinder. It is a combined AV with a star above it. Any help as to where to begin the search would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Larry

Forgot to mention, this revolver has no safety.
