Sig Arms P232 Reviews

Hmmm ... I think $600 is a bit high. I paid only $450 for my 230SL at a local shop that doesnt do a lot of volume. The 232 is substantially the same gun. Anything over $500 out the door/delivered seems unreasonable for a 232.

A SIGarms P-232 is not a .357 cal. It is a .380 and the MSRP is ony $519.00. Check it our for youself on

Just bought one -- havent fired it yet. Specs say its a .380 ACP, but barrel has 9mm engraved on it. What is the correct ammo to use?

.380 ACP is also known as 9mm short, or kurz. Does it say 9mm kurz on the slide? If so it probably uses .380 ACP. Using 9mm Para in a 9mm kurz gun would be very dangerous as the Para is much more powerful. If you are unsure what ammo your gun uses you should check with a gunsmith or your local gun shop.

Good point. I forgot about the Kurz round. Theres the 9X17, 9X18 my CZ-82 Markarov uses this, 9X19 the true 9mm, 9X19 etc. and on and on. Here are a few of the variations of the 9mm rounds:

* 9x17 aka 9mm Browning Short/Kurz/Corto aka .380ACP(This is possible your round, the 9X17)

* 9x18 Ultra (experimental German pre-WW2) and 9x18 Police (similar, mid-1970s police round, mostly German)

* 9x18 PM aka 9mm Makarov - Soviet round, shall NOT be confused with 9x18 Ultra/Police because of different actual bulet diameter! (This is my Markarov round)

* 9x19 aka 9mm Luger aka 9mm Parabellum aka 9mm Nato - THE 9mm

* 9x19 Glisenti - a low-powered vsrion of the 9x19 Luger/Para, used by Italians in WW1

* 9x20 Browning Long - a long-obsolete belgian round, used in FN Browning M1903 and Husqvarna M1907 (license-made M1903)

* 9x21 IMI - a 9x19 case stretched out by 2mm, but with the same OAL and ballistics as 9x19 Luger. European civilian-only replacement for military-only 9x19, most popular in Italy and France

* 9x21 SP-10 Russian - sort of proprietary 9mm Magnum, available only in Russian sidearms (one pistol and one SMG) of current manufacture. Most often fitted with AP bullet

* 9x23 Bergmann aka 9x23 Largo - round, developed by Bergmann in germany in around 1905, and a standard issue Spanish round from early 1900s and until mid-1980s.

Yes, I know that isnt your URL. I tried to use the little E-mail icon below the name of the person who makes the posting. That opens a dialog box.
