The first pistol I ever shot was a Glock 23. It was all I knew... From all of the media, movies, etc. I figured Glock was the ultimate pistol. It was time for me to make a purchase and I did alot of research and talked to alot of people. I had never fired, held or even seen a Sig in person. I bought it and havent looked back since. Id choose Sig over Glock, HK, or CZ any day of the week!! I guarantee youll never be dissapointed with Sigs.

Just picked up a 229R (.40) the other day, and had a slight problem with loading. It would eject spent rounds fine, but on loading a new round, it would jam as the cartridge was on its way into the chamber. Happened often at first, and now not as often, but still frustrating, as I want this to be my carry. Never really heard of a break in period for Sigs, (at least not like this). There are no burrs inside the barrel. Any comments would be welcomed.

I am looking for advice here. I am looking to buy a hand gun but I am not sure as to which one to get. I have found a Sig P226 / 229 a CPO for $600. With standard sights. Or I have found a line on a new lock 23 with night sights for only 550.00

I have never seen this but I have read reviews where the chamber on a glock will blow up and that they are not that accurate where the sigs are very accurate. I have shot Glocks and H and Ks but never a Sig.

Please advise.

Thanks in advance,

Bill

I paid $620 out the door for my CPO 229 in .40. I prefer Sig to Glock any day of the week. They are both great pistols but I like the overall feel and look of the Sig. Not to mention that Sig makes the best pistol in the world. Check em both out, see if you can rent either and see which one feels good. I have heard many complaints about Glocks grip and the angle it shoots at. Id say stick w/ Sig

Yea thats not a bad deal at all. The extra barrel runs for at least $100 by itself.

The Sig, in my honest opinion is the best pistol for the money. He is right, the barrel alone is over $125.00 retail. The Sig, wont let you down. Glocks are good for target-practice and fun to shoot. I would not rely on a Glock-27 in a life or death sisuation. The out-come, my not be very pleasant. As for a pistol ,Sig is the best ( my opinion only). However, I also carry a revolver, for back-up self-defense, they dont jam. A mis-fire w/my revolver is possible, but highly unlikely....Later, Nohub

Was excited to shoot my friends new 229 as I might be interested in one soon, but the damn thing would jam every 5 rounds or so regardless of ammo used. Its being looked at by the factory now so this gun has a long way to go to get my confidence, now Im not knocking this 229 as Im sure its a defect, but I think Ill buy another Glock first. Hopefully I can increase my rating soon;sorry Freaquentshooter but only 3 for now! G23 4ME
