I bought the Stoeger Cougar in September 2009 in .40 cal for the great price of $360.00. Hands down it's the best gun purchase I've ever made. The gun has been perfect, I think it's the best semi-auto I own. I even like it better than my sig P239.

I just purchased my Stoeger Cougar 9mm a week ago from Bass Pro, $419. It came with four magazines. I studied this firearm extensively before purchasing. The wife and I took it to the range this past weekend. We just put 100 rounds through it and it performed flawlessly. We used 124 gr American Eagle, very clean ammo by-the-way. Very accurate at 7 and 15 yards. Very low recoil. We love it. The wife will probably carry this one as her duty firearm for fugitive recovery. I'll be getting another one very soon. I recommend it to everyone that wants a Beretta on the cheap.
