Kel-Tec is a KIA, not a Cadillac or BMW, it is what it is!...affordable pocket gun that packs a 9mm punch, no not a .357, .45 or a 40., certainly better than .22,.380 .32. or 25...I own; full-size 9mm, 40's, .45. .357., 44 and S&W 500...just purchased a PF-9, functioned flawlessly with several types of ammo...including sub sonic 147 grn...however, rated for a small diet of +p+...put a few +p+ thru weapon, wow, too much for this weapon, first round slammed pinky on shooting hand (grasped underneath shortgrip/w wraparound houges) small blood blister, thumb on shooting hand kicked mag release (above ave. hand size)disengaged magazine...no 2nd shot...shot 3 magazines full of this hot ammo, not practicable., sure I can be mr macho and handle it..but, why?...next I shot standard load HP's/tight group at rapid fire, much more controllability, tighter follow-up shots, high visible front site...this is not a sig, glock, smith, kimber, s.a. it is what it is...a bargain price (actually large caliber) in terms of a "super small" (8 round) pocket gun thats worth every cent, perfect for warm weather clothing concealability....shot circles around my buddies new ruger palm size .380...with double the firepower....Grade A, does what it is supposed to do!

Back at the range today...highly recommend 147 grn jhp subsonic ammo for Kel-Tec. PF-9..10 yards rapid fire group the size of a baseball (4 rounds touching)....also, punched a a much bigger hole than yesterdays fmj 115grn...extremely comfortable round to shoot...

I tried to buy one this week - two local dealers have listed at $350 and $320 which is above MSRP. I am hoping to find a better deal at the local gun show this weekend. Can anyone tell me what the market price is for a new PF9?

You shouldn't pay more than $275. This model is getting more popular so dealers are trying to get more for them. Negotiate them down or walk away...if they want to sell they will go down to $275.

This was good advice - I bought one this weekend at the gunshow for $280 out the door (NIB.) Have not shot it, but am happy with the find.

Bought one about 3 months ago at the gun show for $230.

It was the last one they had. Great price! Was price checking for 2 weeks at several of the local gun stores and pawn shops. They averaged about $270-$290. Great gun to carry. I carried an XD .40 subcompact for 3 years, then a Glock 27 which was lighter than the XD for 2 years and now the PF-9. So thin and so light it feels great! Shoots great.

First off i'm new to the forum, so thanks for having me. i bought my PF-9 about two weeks ago, mainly because of the reviews from you guys. And like so many have said ...... i love this gun. It is everything i was looking for in a carry gun. Thanks for the other reviews. And FYI, here in ole St. Louis, this gun can be bought for $259 any day. What a great deal!

I am going on 1 year with my PF9 and I have to say that Kel Tec hit a home run with this gun. Thin, light, and easy to carry on a hot day. I practice often with this gun and although it kicks like a mule for a 9mm, it has been 100% reliable.

Well, you convinced me. I went out and bought one for $270. I think it is going to work out fine as a pocket pistol. I did see them on the net for $235 but after shipping and a fee I think I did ok as is.. It is my pocket mouse that roars. I think I am going to like it when the Kimber is just too big.
