Glock 23 Reviews

I had my G23 out today drawing and shooting on the move. Getting ready for the Buckeye Firearms Fun Shoot next Sunday down at Tactical Defense Institute in Southern Ohio.

I only shot about 50 rounds and got one jam. It was due to limp wristing. My gun will jam if I am not shooting right. Practicing with my Walther P22 and not enough with my primary carry weapon is the culprit.

I need to be more religous about practicing a couple times a month with it.

After over a year of ownership, and over 500 rds fired through this pistol, I absolutely love this pistol. I purchased the Glock 23 after learning from my mistakes in purchasing the Taurus 24/7 (see my post in that comment section). I use the Glock 23 for home defense, and is my sidearm when deer hunting. It feels like an extension of my hand and with the night sights - I can shoot night or day.

You grow used to the safety on the trigger, and doesn't give me problems anymore.

I posted my experience @ the range under the Glock 22 thread as I was discussing .40 issues but I gotta tell you, the gun shop/range where I bought my Glock 23 had a 10% off special going on in addition to their one month's free shooting (unlimited). It's a perk they offer when you purchase a gun from them. Great deal, huh? Plus the Glock 23 is really good. (It's a Glock, need more be said?)

Sent away for guide rod & spring assembly from Lone Wolf for my G23 last night. Now I'm thinking possibly a barrel from them as well. This gun is going to be my "baby". As much as I love all my guns, this one really speaks to me. At the rate I'm spending money on guns themselves, I won't be able to buy any ammo soon, lol!

Purchased a Glock 23 last summer only because it was available for an incredible price. I really wanted a Glock 19. I have experienced the same wrist wrenching recoil that a previous poster has but expected it since I own other 40 S&W pistols and load my own ammo. So....? I ordered a retrofit 9MM barrel from Lone Wolf and now I have a Glock 19 and a 23. I think I need to order the 19 recoil spring though because the 9MM loads don't eject very well. They usually land on the bill of my cap

The 9MM barrell is far more accurate than the 40 cal so I'm really happy about that.

Anyway, in 40 S&W or 9MM its a great pistol and a great addition to my collection. And we can finally conceal carry in Wisconsin! Yippeeeee!

I don't understand this "wrist wrenching" recoil others are referring to. The most brash of all of the Glock .40 cal models has to be the 27 and I don't find it to be "wrist wrenching". A bit brash, yes but wrist wrenching, no.

Shoot 2,000 rounds in three days all one handed and you will be online ordering that 9mm barrel as quick as you can say mastercard.

I can't think of a reason as to why I would shoot 2,000 rounds in three days let alone one handed. I carry a .40 for the increased muzzle energy, stopping power and wound channel it carves in comparison to the 9mm. I have shot 600 rounds of .40 in two days more than once for training but this was done in conjunction with firing 3,000 rounds of 5.56 X 45mm. If you find the .40 that bad, I would order a bottle of Summers Eve to go with that 9mm barrel.
