Should I call you "Buzz"? LoL!! You made two good choices, no question about that. But what to choose? If you break it down, my vote goes toward the Bersa. Let me explain what I mean, if I can!



The CZ 75B is an all steel gun, and heavy at 35 oz. Also comes with a 4.7 (5) inch barrel which makes for a large concealed carry option that many people would rather avoid. Because of it's weight the recoil should be very manageable. I didn't like the trigger reach on this either, too long for my medium size paw. It comes with a 15 round mag or less. I got a price of $455.00 on it which is highest of the group here.



Another pistol in the CZ family you should look at is the CZ 75D PCR Compact. It has an aluminum frame and steel slide which will increase felt recoil but it's very manageable IMO. It weighs 27 oz and has a 3.9 inch barrel. That will make it better for carry. It also comes with a decocker which is a great feature, I really like it. The last price I saw on one of these was $525.00. Truth is CZ has quite a few variants and you really have to do your homework before buying one.



Now the Bersa Thunder Pro HC9 comes along and confuses everyone!! I'm amazed that Bersa isn't flying off the shelves and tables at gun shows! They're an excellent deal for the money. I have a Thunder 9 UC and love it, but I'll try to keep my remarks neutral, lol! It comes with an aluminum alloy frame, steel slide and you can get it duo tone if you want. It's fully ambidextrous which is a major plus. It's a little heavier than the CZ 75D but much lighter than the 75B. This also comes with a 17 round capacity. At 30.7 oz and a 4.25 inch barrel this should be a good CCW gun. Bersa's all come with a lifetime warranty too. I just got a price NIB for $388.00, so it's definitely affordable.

many thanks sir tig. i am very pleased to have found this forum. i just want to own a decent but reasonably priced 9mm. there will be a gun show here in manila next month, that's why i am asking for opinion on my two choices and you gave me a very good info. i guess i will go for bersa hc9 since i am very pleased with my bersa hc40. thank you sir.

hyperme- I agree with tig, I thoroughly enjoy my Bersa Thender Pro Ultra Compact .40 and my Thunder .22LR Can't help but feel you won't go wrong with the Bersa 9mm. Keep us posted on your findings!

Just returned from another incredible day at the range! Funny how something that can be so loud and deadly can be so relaxing and peace promoting. I find it very soothing to focus on a point and fire at it. It's a very relaxing, peaceful time spent in the solitude of my own head silenced with ear plugs. And to think my own government is trying to take this away from me. Never mind the fact that I can't protect myself or what is mine. I live in Illinois. I realize the hypocritical bastards that run my state. Tell me I can't while all of THEM do. But to take away the simple pleasure of a peaceful day putting holes in paper targets. This poor country has lost it's identity in an attempt to be politically correct for all the wrong people.

roncodrummer, I couldn't but savor each letter of your last comment. I have never heard such a poetic and at the same time realistic way of describing what I believe, is our pasion about shooting a firearm for all the right reasons. I enjoy them the same way. Bersa firearms, specially the Thunder is such a pleasure to fire and enjoy that you only forgot to mention that it parallels the brush of a painter inmortalizing his ideas on a canvas. Hey, ronco, if things get too restrictive for you in Illinois, come to Alabama you will enjoy "weapons heaven", where the only similarity to Illinois is its four last letters without the "O". I live in the county where I'm a Deputy for. I get up in the morning and look at my wife and ask her "Honey, what you want to fire today for breakfast?, the AR,AK,Remington Bersa, Glock, Makarov, Keltec, Ruger, SigSauer, ISSC and what caliber? Just to mention a few...

She kind of prefers to fire her baby, her SigSauer. The only question is what caliber 9mm or 40s&w? I like the buffet, were I fire some each, although I can't sometimes decide between my Glock and my Bersa.

Spent another day at the range with mixed results. I had at least a half-dozen FTE from my Bersa Ultra Compact .40. I used the same ammo as usual. The only differing factor was the cleaning solvent used after my previous trip. I tried a can of Hornady One Shot Dry Solvent Cleaner. The stuff seemed to work well and the label said it leaves a dry lubricant on the gun, but when I sent some rounds through my Bersa, I had the FTE's. Have any of you guys had any experience with this stuff? I am going back to G96 CLP and will see if any problems arise. Please let me know if you have tried this stuff.

i was at the range yesterday with my .40pro, i got a lot of FTF after the 1st or 2nd bang. my ammo was always stuck up nosediving inside both my mags. i don't know if it is the teflon coated ammo or loose spring. i usually keep both my 1911 hc and my bersa mags loaded about 10-12 rounds, but this type of jamming on the mag never even once happened on my 1911.

I've got the Bersa Thunder UC 9mm and haven't had a failure to do anything ever. I encourage you to try a product that I absolutely swear by, "Eezox" http://Eezox.com/gun-care.html I might also add that I use this for every firearm I own, from this to my Glock, Ruger and my Bushmaster AR. None of them have ever failed in any form. I attribute it to good care and Eezox!

TIG - Just did a little research on the Eezox and it sounds like just what I've been looking for. I don't like the oily residue left behind with the G96 CLP and I end up breaking my weapons down the next day and wiping them dry and repeating it again a few days later. The oil just never seems to dry up. I like the sound of the Eezox and the dry-to-the-touch property. I am going to pick some up this weekend. I'll post my thoughts afterwards. I've converted many, many shooters, here especially to this stuff. It truly does what it says. We've held some corrosion resistance tests with it, and several other products with fabulous results. Eezox routinely performed better than everything else. Be sure you get the needle oiler, it works great!
