Recently bought a beretta 92fs stainless but recoil guide rod made from some kind of plastic not a stainless metal. What do you think should I buy a stainless silver recoil spring rod or the plastic is good too???

Glocks come with plastic guide rods also. The only issue I had was the recoil spring twisting and then scraping inside the gun. I would have to unwind it every once in a while to keep it straight. After a I owned the gun for several months I purchased a stainless steel guide rod with a factory spring. I no longer have the spring twisting problem, and the gun feels like it shoots better, but that is very subjective. I have no evidence that it is any better.

The plastic is actually a polymer and will work just fine. I have no problem using polymers parts in AR's and they're much more stressed than any pistol.
