No doubt it would be a vacation to remember!! Aside from that, I own a Colt Mk. IV Series 70 .45acp and am very partial to it. It has been mine since 78 and it has never failed me once. Excellent choice for the best non custom .45 auto!

If you have to name them, you don't own enough. Buy more! Nothing like a series 70 or prior. Couldnt agree more. Its the deep Blue that makes you fall in love.

I loved my MK IV/70, but my need was for concealment, so I went with the Officer's model, but made the mistake of a matte finish. My favorite was a Star PD in the 80s, but I 'shot-it-to-death'...eventually. (many, many in-betweeners)

Lately I've been looking at this 80 series 7+1 Defender at 21 ounces:

I got the 1911 90 series Colt Defender .45acp quite awhile ago. Amazing accuracy at 25 yards, 22 oz, SS, 3 dot sights, 3.5 in bbl, thin. Never a single FTF, FTE, etc., in hundreds of rounds.
Got rid of the Hogue grips, but many like 'em.

It is now my favorite sidearm with 185gr +P Hornadys.
