AR-15 FORMAT

Postby ke7zem » Fri Jan 06, 2012 7:41 pm

I looked around in the rifle section and ran a search, is there an area we can talk AR? I am going to be getting one from my brother, its a Carbon AR-15, nice scope, several magazines, fluted barell and flash suppressor. I should have it by end of March. I have alot to learn about this gun, I know some, but, more would be better. anyone have any thoughts?

I seriously think this site needs an AR category.
It is the most popular carbine in the U.S., by far.

Good folks use them for sport, hunting, and self defense effectively against criminals.
However, every good Patriot should own one and learn to use it properly, should the need arise to fight against a Rogue, Tyrannical government.

As is the intent of our 2nd amendment.

An old friend of mine started this site.
It is one of my favorites for reliable AR15/M16 info and ideas:

Decided to to some work on my Colt CAR15, got carried away to the point where, I thought I may as well do a complete disassembly. It didn't really need it, just got carried away.

Got her back together yesterday... ended-up with a few new tools, that will come in handy if one of my ARs ever actually 'needs' a total teardown.

Next time it will be a 'same-day' project, since it won't be in a gun vise for 10 days waiting on a tool.

Anybody know a good source for rifle & SG 'butt-plates that are rigid and without the rubber recoil pads that stick & snag to my clothing when shouldering for a quick shots.

I'd like to go with all hard polymer or metal butt-plates on ALL my long guns ASAP.

From what I can see, I may have to go to all 'adjustable' stocks, just to get rid of the endless 'recoil pads that seem to come with most every long gun out there.
This is no small problem!!!!
