My S&W .38 model 315 (snub nose) when fired at 7 yds will drop 10 inches. When fired at 12-15 yds. it is relatively accurate.

I shoot 110 gr. to 130 gr. bullets.

Either Federal Hydra Shok 110 gr. or Winchester 130gr. FMJ

I know a .38 snub nose is meant as a belly gun but why the drop at 7 yds?

    Any comments would be appreciated.

When I first took the revolver to the range I thought it was just my shooting capabilities due to lack of experience. My friends get the same results. When shooting at a silhouette target if you aim at the middle of the chest it hits low. If you aim at about the chin to the neck area you hit the top half of the 'Bread Basket'.

However at 12 to 15 yards it hits where aimed. I know there isn't much room for movement with a snub nose but this is frustrating.
