The 10mm is a great cartridge. Be aware that most factory loads are not at standard chamber pressures. After the FBI stopped using them (quite a while ago) they had created somewhat of a 10mm Special. The few modern guns that support 10mm, are actually designed for higher chamber pressures than what you buy from the store. I'd suggest hand-loading if you want the full 10mm benefit.
I'm thinking of a 45. My Ruger sucked. Jammed all the time. I want something more reliable with a kick. Not something to knock 'em down but to take 'em out..( I live in the city that is called ("The city of sin") but it's not in Vegas it's in Mass

Your children, your grand children, and you grand childrens great grand children. Namara<----------typical misfire on the muzzle loader. All flash...no cash...
I disagree with the post regarding the 9MM conversion for a G22. Mine is as accurate as the 40 caliber. The 9MM works just fine and is cheaper to shoot. It just requires 9MM magazines to go with the 9MM barrel. I often shoot both calibers at the range by just switching the barrels.
jbfla.....Just curious...........which brand 9mm coversion barrel did you buy? I have been considering the one from Lone Wolf Distributors (their brand) for either my G22 or G27. Also, I was thinking about getting the ported version just because it extends the barrel about an inch. I figured it might be better for accuracy. Anybody got any input? BTW....accuracy is a big deal if I am going to buy one. My G22 is the most accurate handgun out of my collection (not including my .22cal target pistol). So, if I am going to buy one I want it to be right. If it is not going to be accurate, I may just buy a G17 or G19.
I'm a big fan of Storm Lake Barrel's..You can buy them on topglock.com My friend has it and loves it.. Just becarefull topglock has alot of items on back order
I have a KKM 9MM conversion barrel that I purchased from Glockmeister. I also replaced my Glock barrel with a KKM barrel. Both are very accurate.
I actually ordered a Storm Lake barrel for my 22C from Top Glock once. I finally cancelled the order after two months. I just got sick of hearing (It will be in next week). Don't get me wrong about Top Glock, every other item I ordered has shown up fast, the order was right, and the parts worked. It was just the barrel order.
I heard that about topglock with storm lake barrels.. DID you get it from somewhere else or did you get another converserion barrel
JB: Persecutor: Mr. Namare did you state that the accuracy of the conversion of a Glock chambered for . 40 caliber to a 9 mm caliber was suspect in an as foe mentioned web site forum as was previously brought before this court. Namara crossing both legs real hard...) That is Namara sir..remember that name Persecutor: Answer the question What ever your name is! Namara: The so called conversion is the simple ordering of the correct barrel length for said gun. My comment as to the "accuracy of the conversion is this. I ALWAYS think in personal defense terms. A . 40/357 swap is null. They are the same gun. If you swap with a nine. You WILL have problems. Persecutor:: So you admit the 9 mm or "nine"as you call it is accurate? Namara: Yes sir I do. My problem with the term accurate was with the conversion. If the user bounces from . 40 to . 357 and back. PAYS VERY GRAVE ATTENTION TO DETAIL OF WHICH CALIBER BARREL IS IN THE FIREARM. Then the conversion is an absolute dream. Persecutor: SO you just have a bias for these caliber. Namara "s ambulance chaser: OBJECTION Not in the form of a Here cum DA judge Sustained Namara:: Yer Kingship...err yer honnao sir I would like to answer that. Here cum DA judge: GO on son. Namara: Your honor sir For a self defense carry that conversion that has the number nine anywhere in the equation just ain't safe. On the range it rocks. On the Bulls eye meets it rocks. When you Life depends on it, your kids life depends on it, or this selfish little old drunks life depends on it. It just aint no good sir. Why you could even call Glock and ask PERSECUTOR.... OBJECTION Glock has nothing to do with Namara ambulance chaser ... But yer honor saints and bne praised. Hic.. DA judge.... shut up da lot of ye...... Reccess
Ok: So I won't give me day job. The problem is in the feed of the nine. You will have jams. Now if you can live with that, and many of you can. So be it. I feel the real kick is the in the true hard knowledge of having a firearm that fires .4 and .357 reliably. ( specially with all the legislation coming up to protect us. Squeeeeeeze those childrens fer me. Love ya all, For real Namara
Note that I never mentioned carry or personal defense in conjuction with the 9mm conversion barrel. My only purpose was target/range use only, and to use a cheaper/wider range of ammo choices.
I just got my gun back from the gun smith and He was like "you don't shoot it that much do you?" i just laughed and told him I shoot this gun every week at least once!!!! He told me that it looks like it was brand new!! That was the best thing anyone could have said to me. I take such pride in cleaning my guns!!
Hi, Well it is like this, I hold a 1.5" group with my favorite .22 and I hold a 6" group with my Glock 22 .40 cal.. I hate the combat sights that it came with. My laser from Lasermax "is spot on". I need advice on new, target style adjustable sights. What specifically, will put the point of impact on top of the sight. I intend to get a "Carry Permit" after I solve the accuracy potential. What are the best agjustable target sights? Thanks, advice will be appreciated. I don't want to spend $150 on something that is no better.
target adjustable sights are the best thing for carrying. They stick out more and have more edges to catch on. They can be bumped out of alignment, and they are much more fragile than fixed sights. I'd suggest getting meprolight or trijicon night sights for it. They use the three dot system, and I'm able to keep 2" - 3" groupings at 15 yards. Additionally, a carry gun doesn't need to be a nail driver (it's not a bad feature), but 90% of instances that someone with a CCW permit has to draw, the target is within "conversational distances", usually 1 to 4 yards, I'm sure you could find the exact stats somewhere on the net. The traditional 7 yard distance is derived some something completely different.
There are adjustable sights that do not stick out very much and are very durable. If the gun is only for carry then fixed sights are OK. I shoot a variety of bullet weights in my Glock and also switch between 9MM, 40 Caliber and 357SIG. These bullets do not hit in the same place. I also have a problem with my shooting hand which does not have full feeling in it so it is difficult to detect when I pull the gun to the right since I have no feedback from my hand. My sights are adjusted to compensate for that and it works for me. Laser sights are adjustable and can be used in lieu of adjustable iron sights. They do not work all that well in very bright sunlight. However they are outstanding for dry firing practice.
few questions.. 1.The night sights how long do they last and how do they work? 2. anyone know anything about ported barrels 2.1 does anyone recomend a after market barrel? i was looking at a storm lake 3. ANyone have a aftermarket compansator? ( iknow i spelled that wrong) 4.anyone recomend anything else.. I have the extended slide and mag release
