drove an hour today to academy in macon, ga to buy a shotgun and was turned away due to a delay on bg check. this is weird to me since this is my 3rd purchase this year, one of which came from that same academy sports. WTF? do I just wait? how should I follow up. can I try at a different academy. thnx
I would not know but if it were me I would be wanting to know why. Have you asked the Academy what the reason could be for this or a phone number for someone to call that could explain the problem?
just got clear. they say someone w/ similar name could cause prob. guess i'll make the trip back down tomorrow. maybe i can guilt them in to givin me a box of shells or somethin.
They're required by law to tell you why you were denied. They have to give you a reason, how else can you determine your next move?
I have had a CCW for almost 30 Yrs so I really don't remember, but isn't there a 7 day Fed. wait for non CCW Holders?? Or is it by State? I remember when I was a kid you could purchase a Rifle W/O a Permit and get it right away, but had to wait on Pistols.
In Ohio you can walk into a gun store, pass a background check, buy a gun, ammo, load it up, stick it in your holster, pocket etc... and walk out all in about 20 minutes. I love this state.
