Thanks tigwelder56, I learned something today and that makes it a good day.

Here's your answer:
Tanfoglio pistols are manufactured by Fratelli Tanfoglio SpA. company, Italy. Basically, all standart, combat and compact models are all-steel clones of the famous CZ-75 design.

I bought one of these that was advertised as a "truck gun" (45). I just wanted to check the ergonomics (long story) and it is now my favorite. I've put a couple hundred rounds of winchester ball through it without a single

Thanks keyman, I hope you enjoy the Ruger! If gun is more trouble than it's worth, then it defiantly needs to go.

Well, I wish to thank all the guys that tried to help me during the time I had the Witness P Compact.
After buying two more magazines and working with them the best I knew how, I just couldn't get the gun to fire w/out a flub up

Thanks, Irgcal and ep. Your information is well taken. The limp wrist could very well be the problem. I'm a pretty big man w/large hands and make a special effort to hold the gun firmly, but I do notice that the flub ups usually happen near the

keyman,
I'm happy to be of some help. There are no dumb questions, we all have to start learning this stuff from scratch.
epwrangler has a good point. Even a very experienced shooter can "limp wrist" an auto loader. I did

I am wondering about limp wisting the gun. If you do not hold it firmly enough then the gun will not function correctly as it expects a certain amount of resistance. Get someone else to shoot it and see if they have the same problem.

H i Keyman, Let me offer some help, first by stating with the obvious so you can feel better about starting out right. I'll then get more technical.
1, Make sure the gun is cleaned throughly, especially the bore, feed ramp and breach face.

I really do have other things to do besides go to the range, but since I joined their program, I've been going about twice a week.
Yesterday I put 20 Independence, 20 Winchester, and 30 Blazer Brass rounds through the gun. All of this

I got all the gray I can handle too. It is not easy to get old you know. It takes a lot of grit to get there. Keep shooting and enjoy it the best you can. I have been playing with a Taurus with straight 8 sights. I am on a learning curve with them.

Well, ep, I put some hollow points through the gun today, along with some regular ammo. I was a little disappointed in that it didn't feed too good and a couple of times the bullet didn't hit the barrel and ended up looking straight up.

Thanks, ep, I do have a friend that is more experienced than I am, but ever getting him to the range is another thing.
I'm going to the range tomorrow, so I'll see if I can do a little better than before. Sure is strange, though, that

There is the other possibility in that it is common for people to shoot low and left when they need to learn to grip the gun. I know how it feels to think it has to be he gun and not you so let someone you know is a goodshoot try it. I did and it was a bit humbling to know it was me and not the gun. By the waymy CZ75 is very accurate with me shooting it.

My Witness P 40 cal. is giving me the same problem that I have seen posted on this site a couple of times. It shoots two-three inches low and a half to one inch left.
I talked to the gunsmith at the store where I bought it, and he immediately

Well, another 50 rounds through this little hummer with only one mishap, and I feel sure that it was due to my one-handed firing.
I had been holding it with both hands, but tried about three shots one-handed and it stove-piped on the last round

In spite of my runny nose and watering eyes, I went to the range yesterday and put 100 rounds through the new weapon. All of the five bullet reviews that have been posted here were all confirmed when I fired that little darlin'. Most of my

Thanks, Williams . . . I know it sounds silly, but it really is a concern for me. Your comments are much appreciated. I had a Baby Desert Eagle. Loved the way the gun felt, but it cut into my finger every time I pulled the trigger. Had to trade it. Thanks again.

You can always tell when you have a good weapon. You try to find one used and its hard to find. I purchased 1 used (.45 poly) then a new one (.45 poly) then thr org Eaa, and now for the last 6 years there are no used ones that I can find in my area. Great weapon. I will buy more.
