Manufacturing Pending?

Manufacturing Pending?

Postby BrianB » Tue Jul 06, 2010 10:26 am

Hi all, have a question for you, hopefully it does not sound too stupid. I applied for a CHL and have been checking the status of it often. Finally this morning, the background check went from yellow to green and the status says "Manufacturing Pending". Now I think that means that everything is good and I will be seeing a license soon but the term "Manufacturing Pending" throws me off a bit. Too me that means its still in question due to the word "Pending". To me that means there is still something it may be depending upon. If it means it is ready to go I would think it would be more correct to say something like "Manufacturing in Progress" or something like that.

So, to put it simply, does this mean I will be getting my license?

Here is what it looks like, all in green except the last one, "Manufacturing Pending", which is still in yellow.

Thanks,

Brian

Hey, BrianB....Good question. I would take the phrase to mean, "as soon as our temporary typing clerk ever gets back from another vacation, we will have her/him type up your permit..."

If I am correct, the clerks job title would be, "Document Issuance Specialist"! Ahh..bureaucratic B.S.

Anyway BriainB, let us know how you come out!

Hahaha, thanks neverenough, I believe you are correct from what I can tell looking it up on the net. Though there is nothing really crystal clear, I have found nothing to contradict your thought on the matter.

Perhaps since we are talking about a temp it would be a "Document Issuance Contracted Specialist".

We just have to change your sentence a bit to something like;

"Your license will be typed up and sent out 'pending' the return of our DICS from another vacation"

I wish the DICS would hurry up and finish my license.

neverenough must have had his oats this morning...

TURDS/bureaucrats... LOL

I worked in government many years & they will ALWAYS find the wrong way to do something.

Must admit, I never heard "Manufacturing Pending" applied to paperwork-in-pile before.

Let us know when you CHL is "Manufactured" and delivered.

How many years is TX CHL good for? KS is only 4yrs.

goanra, my understanding is that it is also 4 years but has something to do with your birth date though I would have a hard time explaining and be sure its correct. Something along the lines of four years from your next birthday so it could actually be good for nearly 5 years depending upon when you get it.....I think, at least that was the understanding I got from the class. Will let you know when I get it how much time I got.

Got my license today, everything is right and expiration is my birthdate of 2015 so it is indeed 4 years after a persons next birthday. I got nearly 5 years out of it.

I read some earlier about it and apparently a person would get five years each time they redo their license so basically my next one, and all there after will be exactly 5 years.

Took the CHL on 5/28 and sent it out about 3 days later so it took less than 6 weeks total. Not bad compared to a lot of stories I have heard.
