Llama Max-I Reviews

Does anyone know where I can find some kind of rubber finger groove grip for the Llama .45? out of all the colt and clone parts, the grips are the only things that will not fit on this frame!

Heard the Pachmayr makes a grip but dont know for sure if it fits.

popacap, i had a llama 9mm 1911 style gun that had wooden grips. when i first bought, it i liked the look. it was different from everything else id had. the first time i shot the gun, it slipped in my hand.from that point on i was on a mission to find rubber grips....even checkered grips wouldve been better. i couldnt find any, anywhere!!!.

finally, i decided to get a driving glove. it helped a lot. you can get it at wal-mart, next to the tennis rackets...try it, or, good luck finding ANYTHING to fit that brand...

My first 1911 clone. I love it. 1000+ rounds and not a jam. Even my crappy reloads cant beat it up. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice inexpensive 1911.

I don't know of too many gun stores that stock Llama. Gun shows and on-line are where I'd look. Even places that deal in used guns generally shy away from them for the low resale. Don't let that scare you though. They are great guns.

You can use Kimber Taclical magazines in the 45 ACP Max-1. They hold 8 rounds. There is usually some on eBay for sale reasonable.

i have a llama max-i .45 auto that i purchased new in 97' it has been an excellent gun.i have never had a problem with any hardball ammo,it always feeds flawlessly.

i had a little trigger work done a few years ago and it is accurate enough to be very confident in it for self defense.

California, As far as I know Llama went out of business a couple years back from what I was told so finding one in a gun store is getting harder and harder now adays. And since the were a company in Spain, I don't know what the supply of remaining unused handguns is. You will most likely need to look at the consignments the gunshops have or look for a used one someone is selling on gunbroker.com or gunsamerica.com.

Thanks Guyz for your responses. It seems like Llama is difficult to find these day so I have to buy something else. I am thinking .45 Taurus, but I am not sure yet...

I have a vintage WWII Llama "Extra", and am looking for

magazines for this pistol. Can't find anything online...Anyone have a suggestion or info on where to find such? Thanks!
