I owned a hi-point 9mm carbine and to tell you the truth it shot well it had a laser that after sighted properly worked great. It's a cheap gun that if god forbid something happens to it like it gets run over by a truck it's not that big of a deal.

BUT IT LOOKS LIKE A BIG CHUNK OF DOG SH$T

Bought my hi-point about 3 months ago have put about 300+ rounds through it. I've only had 1 jam and it was due to my error i loaded the last bullet improperly. Bought a hogue rubber grip for the handle feels wonderful in your hand. The kick the gun generates is exciting and when fired at the range you can feel the air vibrate around you and so can everyone else :) I also own a hi-point carbine as of 8/11/2007

Hey 18jms welcome to the club. The HP will grow on you and it will perform better each time. At the 400 round level, no serious problems. One stove pipe and that is it. Enjoy

I have a HP 9mm carbine. What a kick it shoots straight never ftfs and is ugly as hell. I love it and plan on changing out the stock.

bought the weapon in .45 cal a little over a year ago. shot a brick of shells (500) through it and it gets better the more i shoot it. I liked it so well, i ordered a .40 cal and have shot 200 rounds through it. never a misfire or jam, just a blast to shoot. have tried different manufactures of shells and they like all of them. I keep a clip of personal defense handy for each and shoot these for practice as well. love the lifetime warranty and they are made in Ohio.

Congrats Mustang. I shot tonight with my son. Great fun. Both the C-9 and the 40 shot flawlessly. Son's first time. I believe he is hooked. . It is true, the more rounds down range make the Hi=Point more reliabale. I believe in them. Enjoy.

I love the way my P45 shoots, it is a very fast aiming pistol. Im new to semi auto's but love the heaviness of it. It seems heavy but yet very balanced. I have large hands so this is perfect for me...... I had 4 jams with the first 50 rounds but asked around and people told me that the steel cased Wolf's wont feed too well.

Great value

I have the .45 and the 9mm and I think of all my guns (shotguns .22's and the eaa witness ) the hi-points are my best and most trusty. everyone is right they are ugly and heavey , but hey some people dig that sort of a girl. I know I do ;)

I have this model and my wife has the 9mm compact. I'll let her comment about it. I've fired a few simi-auto's and owned a Colt courtesy of Uncle Sam. This pistol is an entirerly different experience than the well used 1911 and no telling about the ammo used with it. My experience tells me most repitably manufactured handguns provide an equal bang for the buck. But I am impressed with Hi-Point's ablility to offer this capable of a weapon at this reasonable of a price. Prices have gone up as of 9/07.
