Still love this Glock! Recently I took it out shooting and was able to continuously hit a frying pan from a football field length away!

But one important thing ive found about the G26 is that the trigger pull is quite heavy. More so than any other pistol ive fired, its accuracy depends tremendously on how slow you pull the trigger.

But once you realise this even its extra short barrel wont stop you from hitting the target time after time.

Nice gun for concelment. Make sure you add an extender so your pinkie will fit the gun.

Superb gun. Fantastic accuracy, reliability, weight, and ease of disassembly. Recoil is not a problem at all, unless you prefer no recoil. An inexpensive magazine extender makes a big improvement (though difficult to install) in how it fits the hand, although its stubby unextended standard handle is simple enough to get used to. $475 at a local independent shop, $22 less than a major outdoor chain store charges for it.

caltransplant.......Since the 26 & 27 are exactly the same size, I would pick the 27 if it is for a CCW. Bigger caliber and takedown power with comparable accuracy.



First, cinsider this, If you have to use it in a stressful situation the fartherst you most likely going to be is 30 or so feet, so accuracy is going to be about the same for either.



Second, in a stressful situation you are not likely to notice recoil and you are going to be shooting only a few shots at most.



I am a bit biased for two resaons. I own 27 for and I don't like 9mm's for self defense. Not saying that a 9mm won't do the job, but when you may only get one or two shots you have to make the best of it. 9mm's a fine at the range but when the .40 is exactly the same size for concealment, I think it is the better way to go. You can also get the Glock factory .357 sig barrel for the 27 and make the gun a little more powerful than the .40 cal.

I own several nice 9mm - Glock 17, Beretta 92FS, Springfield XD and have historically carried a moody Walther PPK as my CCW. For the price, this is an outstanding firearm. As a person with medium hands, it fits well and is the favorite 9mm of my wife. Recoil is manageable, trigger is smooth and grouping is tight. My walther has been formally retired from service and the G26 now serves honorably!

You get used to it after awhile, just get yourself a holster that securely covers the trigger-guard. When I bought my first Glock I was intimidated too, so I carried with the chamber empty and the trigger in ready position for a week or so, as long as the trigger was in the same position when I took the gun off, I new I still had a leg.lol Funny when I bought my 1911 the safeties were an oddball to me, so I carried un-chambered cocked and locked for a week. It all just takes getting used to.

Dont quote me on this, but ive heard Glock has plans to soon add a safety/fire switch in addition to their existing double trigger safety on all their handguns. When? I have no idea. Why? I would imagine to address your type of concern.
