The BM stamped on the bottom is the model. I have a picture posted in the opening photos. (Pjoto 3 of 3) You can usually find parts at Numrich: http://www.gunpartscorp.com/TandCofSale.aspx These are great shooting guns for the price.

The Model B was manufactured from the 1940's to late 60's the model BM wich is the compact 4" was made from 1976 to 1991. ranging in serial numbers from 126.000 to 192,000 . ending in 1991 so depending on your serial number, it will give you a round about date on the weapon. i have a chrome plate BM serial 157 which is around 79-82. wich pearl grips . i love my BM. great 1911 for the 9mm round. i love it :-)
