Charles Daly 1911 A-1 Reviews

I havent had any problems with this pistol after shooting over 1,000 rounds. The advantage I have is that I reload my own ammo and know the quality of each and every round. If you want more accuracy and less problems which was expressed by some on the forum, please learn to reload. If you are unable to many people at local ranges do. It makes a significant difference in your shooting experience.

I had one of these for one day, and that was too long. Stovepipes, FTE's, etc. I thought it might be the mag or the ammo I was using. I traded it for a new Springer 1911 Mil-Spec in stainless. Same box of ammo, same mag=no problems whatsoever. Conclusion... the Chuck wasn't too swift. It had the "feel" of a 1911, but not the quality. I love my springer, though.

I have one of these. The Empire EFS. I love it. I have never had a problem with it. I have put at least 4,000 rounds through it since I bought it in Jan. The only ammo it it jams with is the cheap independence ammo. It is an amazing 1911 for the price. I also like is because it is heavy. I like a heavy gun because of the reduction in the recoil.

The custom image I have shown has a 3.5 lb pull, a two inch compensator, a eight round DLSports Mag, a custom finish, and a 8 lb recoil spring, the rest is stock. It produces tight 2" groups at 25 yards.

As I have stated before it only jammed twice and only with independence ammo. It fires Magtech 230gr FMC ammo and Magtech GuardianGold 230gr+P perfectly. I believe the independence ammo jammed because of the lighter powder charge.

I have a Field EFS. It looked beautiful out of the box. I have put about 1500 rounds thru it. Usually about 200 rounds on a weekend. It fed everything I gave it including Lawman Hardball, Magtech hardball and my own light reloads.

My reloads are 230 grain hard cast lead with a velocity of about 680 fps. I have never had a FTF or FTE. I shoot at 4 in steel plates at 15 to 25 yards and my Charles Daly smacks them down every time (asl ong as I do my part). I would recommend this gun to anyone. Any shooter who has had problems with a 1911 I would recommend they work on hand and wrist strength and break in your gun by working the slide and dry firing. Don't forget lubrication. My friend brought his Springfield GI .45 out last week and spent the morning fixing FTF about every magazine. I'll keep my Charles Daly thank you.

The ballistics chart on the main page lists the 1911A1 EFS as a 6+1 capacity. That is of course false, the Charles Daly 1911A1EFS comes with two 8 round MEC-GAR magazines.

Mine function flawlessly.

My dad gave me his old Charles Daly 1911 a while ago and it's been a great gun. It's been even more reliable than my SA loaded model and I'm more accurate with it too.

Got my CD 1911 about a month ago and so far has been a great gun. Only problem i'm having is it will only hold 7 in the clip without jamming. If i put 8 in the clip and cycle the slide it jams up almost everytime. Any suggestions/answers?
