This will vary depending on the laws of your area, but this is what I went through... had to go to the police station to get the paperwork, once you complete all of it, and theres plenty of b.s., I had to take a firearms safety class, get references and all that good stuff, then bring the paperwork back and get a finger print date, go through that then I had to wait 6 or 7 weeks for them to process everything and do a background check, then finally they gave me a 30 day town permit, witch I still couldnt buy a gun with, I had to go to the Dep of Public Safety to get my state permit to carry. It hurts my head thinking about that ordeal, Im surprised they dont have us wear a certain color shirt or whatever else they can think of to get one. Oh yea its real easy for them to pull it back too, alright Ive bitched enough good luck hope your process is easier then mine was.

I had to go to my town police station, but like I said it will vary greatly depending on the laws of your area. Not sure whats wrong with the site, it worked fine the other day, but when it was working I read its extremely difficult if not impossible to get a handgun permit in Canada, it said only 50 or so permits are issued up there,is this true? If so that just infuriates me that the bad guys are the only ones with guns, un-freakin believable that this world protects the criminals and tells the innocent their not allowed to defend themselves or their hard earned property! Please tell me its not true!

Most States in USA, you go to your local County Sherrifs office, for the CCW permits. Here, thats what you must do. 1) Must have completed NRA Saftey Course. 2) Pay a Fee, of $75.00 and submit your finger-prints. 3) Fee of $15.00 more, once you receive your CCW Permit Total- $90.00. As for Canada?? Yelp...if the honest people cant have guns, then only the crooks will have them!!! Later, Nohub

I meant to say the County in which you live... however, it does vary from State to State. later

dirrty, why dont you start with a gun store to see what you need to purchase a gun for home defense. if you want to carry find out what is required through your local law enforcement agency.
