new gun looking used

Postby Alpacino » Thu Sep 28, 2006 2:40 am

How do you know if the gun you bought is brand new? I know that certain guns will include 2 casings to show that it was shot. But besides that Im seeing alot of black on the inside of my gun more than just the normal oil. Is there a way to check either by serial number or just from not so new but not so used look of wear? MY dealer is pretty reputable and I dont see why they would sell me a used gun. But again how do I know if a person traded it after a round at the gun range or if it was a floor sample, or rep. sample?

TRY GETTING THE E-MAIL ADDRESS OF THE MANUFACTURER. TELL THEM THE SERIAL NUMBER. THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO TELL YOU WHEN IT WAS MADE. PLUS YOU CAN ASK THE DEALER WHO SOLD IT TO YOU, IF IT WAS USED. THEY SHOULDVE MADE THAT CLEAR WHEN YOU BOUGHT IT...

Con-T is correct, the manufacturer could tell you when it was manufactured, but it could have been sitting in a warehouse some where. I had a similar issue and ended up with lots of finger pointing by the manufacturer, distributor and the dealer. I bought mine on the internet and didnt get a chance to take a good look at it.
