Handloads and CCW

Postby pastorfarley » Tue Jul 13, 2010 6:08 pm

I have read that handloading for CCW is legally risky and others say that is just a possibility proposed by some. I recently spoke to a CCW instructor who uses an attorney for teaching legal issues to his classes. He states the attorney handled the self-defense shooting defense of a lady who loaded the round used. She underwent a three hour questioning on the stand about why she chose each component. The verdict was unaffected by the handloading issue, but the prosecution was trying to prove intent to commit a premeditated murder. Would she have been questioned over the type of store bought ammo she purchased? Maybe not, but it makes you think.
